The binding process takes approximately four weeks. Therefore, obtain the required signatures only after your report has been approved for final submission. Appears after the title page. This checklist assumes you have received the results of a preliminary formatting check.

Submit your dissertation to ProQuest after reviewing the recommendations below: An embargo in the ProQuest database must be requested as part of the online submission process.

Submitting Dissertations and Theses

In order to provide identity protection, students must remove or block out all signatures within the work. This is not required for graduation, but is offered as an option if the student would like their work published within ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Global.

You have the option to purchase copies from ProQuest this is not requiredor you may order copies for yourself via other third party binding services as listed in Dissertation submission FAQ page. Step-by-Step Process Guidelines Graduate students are required to submit their thesis, dissertation, or other scholarly project to the library in order to receive their degree and fulfill the requirements of the Graduate School.

Faculty with Active NetIDs: You have the option to pay ProQuest to register your copyright for you. Other than minor grammatical or citation errors, students may not request changes to their work once it has been accepted.

Ph.D. Dissertation Submission Online submission of the dissertation via ETDs @ Harvard is required by the Graduate School. Dissertations must be received by pm on the deadline date for the given degree period. Submit your document by selecting the Submit Dissertation/Thesis button.

Allow sufficient time for The Graduate School staff to review your document, generally within ten business days of submission. You will be notified via email if revisions are needed, and you must complete all required revisions in a timely manner, usually within 72 hours.
